For new patients we ask that you fill out our new patient intake form either before arrival or on arrival at the practice.

Please bring with you any recent communication from other health professionals or recent scan results if available. Wear appropriate clothing for the area being treated so that your physiotherapist has access to assess and treat your problem area.

If you have never been to a physiotherapist before, here is what you can expect:

  1. The physiotherapist will thoroughly assess your concerns both through questions to understand your pain and how it affects you and through physical assessment and observations on how you move.
  2. The physiotherapist will explain to you in terms you understand what they think the problem is and how they would like to proceed with treatment. This will probably include a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription and advice on how to reduce your pain.
  3. After treatment, the physiotherapist will advise on further treatment required and offer advise on how to stay pain free without flare ups.

Each person’s needs are different and time frames are often hard to provide, but we make every effort to get you moving and feeling better as quickly as possible.

General FAQs

You are able to access physiotherapy without a doctor’s referral in most cases.  Some WorkCover or CTP insurance plans and DVA might require a referral, so it is best to check beforehand if you are unsure.

We treat a wide range of conditions such as sports injuries, joint pain, back pain, post-operative rehabilitation, neurological conditions, and more.

The number of sessions varies based on individual needs and the nature of the condition. It will be discussed during the assessment, and the treatment plan will be adjusted accordingly.

Improvement timelines vary depending on the condition, individual factors, and adherence to the treatment plan. Consistency and following your therapist’s advice can expedite progress.

Physiotherapists provide guidance on injury prevention strategies, including exercises, lifestyle modifications, and ergonomic advice to reduce the risk of re-injury.

It’s normal to experience some discomfort during or after certain treatments or exercises. However, if pain is severe or persistent, it’s essential to inform the physiotherapist for adjustments to the plan.

Yes, home exercises are often an integral part of treatment. They help speed up recovery and maintain progress between sessions.

Appointment FAQs

The initial assessment involves discussing your medical history, current symptoms, performing physical tests, and developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Physiotherapy visits are 30 minutes. However, your clinic time may vary between 30-60 minutes.

Prolonged visits are booked for 60 minutes.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated. Sometimes, you might be asked to change into specific attire, so it’s good to inquire beforehand.
